The charity show was produced by Pakistani Fashion Designer HSY and styled by Asmaa Mumtaz and the theme of the charity show was each designer’s interpretation of ‘Black’ to be highlighted with an accent colour.

The first day’s finale was a charity show called “Fashion Gives Back” in which the Fashion Week and other designers participated like Nickie Nina, Sahar Atif, Akif Mahmood, Sara Shahid and Mohsin  presented their latest collection featuring live music from the famous band “Fuzon”. The charity show was produced by HSY and styled by Asmaa Mumtaz and the theme of the charity show was each designer’s interpretation of ‘Black’ to be highlighted with an accent colour.

These creations, amongst others, have been donated by the designers to be sold at a 40% discount today (Thursday, 11 November 2010) at a fundraising exhibition from 12 noon to 3:00pm at the Sheraton Hotel. All proceeds will be channelled towards the rehabilitation of the flood victims of the village of Hisar Qilay in the Malakand district of Swat, which has been adopted by the PFDC.

One of the Fashion collections of Ather & Sabeen depicts the devotional journey of the Monks of the orient. The Malangs of local shrines, and follows the Rung festivities as explained in Hazrat Ameer Khusro’s poetry; where he celebrates the inspiring colors (facets) of his beloved Khwaja Nazimuddin Auliya.

Fashion has its own unique language but there are many ways to express it. Different people express it in their own style; like Fashion designers too, articulate fashion through their own designing philosophies.

Fashion label Ather & Sabeen, owned by the Fashion designers Ather Ali Hafeez and Sabeen Amer Ali, and is also communicating the language of Fashion incredibly. Ather Ali Hafeez graduated in Communication Design from the renowned National College of Arts Lahore, and started designing in 1990. He has participated in many national & international Fashion shows like Dubai Fashion Week, Bridal Asia in Delhi, Femina Fashion Week in Mumbai, the Libas Omega Launch, a solo showing - Bohemian Buzz, the Khayal Show and the Lux Style Awards etc. Sabeen Amer Ali graduated from the Home Economics College, Karachi, where she was President of the Arts Society. Sabeen has had a solo showing at the Floral Arts Society Show and has also shown at the Khayal Show and SAARC Conference in Delhi.

The Fashion brand Ather & Sabeen is the combination of these two master minds and they are enormously proving their talent as well. Other then this splendid assortment, Ather & Sabeen have designed a number of fantastic fashion anthologies. Their differently designed cuts, embellishments, prints on fine textured fabrics, make them different too.

The shalwar kameez is the national dress of Pakistan and is worn by men and women in all four provinces Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa and FATA in the country and in Azad Kashmir. Each province has its own style of wearing the Shalwar Qameez.Pakistanis wairclothes range from exquisite colors and designs to the type of fabric (silk, chiffon, cotton, etc.).

Men all over Pakistan prefer shalwar kameez with some additional accessories which include Pakistani Waistcoat, Achkan and Sherwani with the shalwar kameez or with Churidar Pajama. Jinnah Cap also called Karakul, Fez also called Rumi Topi and Taqiyah (cap) is used with Shalwar Kameez. Khussa is a popular foot wear with shalwar kameez. Men like to wear traditional shawls made of Pashmina or other warm materials especially in Northern part of the country.
